Meet Stacey Wadden
Registered Social Worker
Hi everyone, my name is Stacey, and as a social worker I am fortunate to support individuals of all ages who struggle with mood disorders, mental health diagnoses, and substance use. My career has been focused on working in the field of mental health, along with additional experience in crisis and suicide intervention. I have always enjoyed working with individuals navigating complex mental health concerns and the issues that can arise as a result of these struggles. I am very passionate about helping people who are looking to strengthen their overall wellness and mental health.
I am conscientious about providing a non-judgemental and confidential space to explore the challenges and complexities that life can often bring. As a counsellor, I take an eclectic approach, drawing on various skills, training, and experiences I have obtained throughout my career. I prioritize working collaboratively in creating goals and support you in achieving new skills which can bring meaningful change, self-awareness, and personal growth. Some of the therapeutic approaches that I use include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy and narrative therapy. All the while ensuring that I bring a trauma-informed lens to our work.
I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Work (OCSWSSW). I started my career in this field when I obtained my undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Studies and then completed my Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Waterloo. I am someone who loves continued education and received an Addiction Certification from Wilfred Laurier while also completing my Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University.
When I am not working, I love road trips, I will drive any distance for a new adventure!
