Meet Rose Singh

Registered Social Worker

My name is Rose. Thank you for taking time to learn more about me and my approach to counselling.

I strive to create helpful and supportive therapeutic conversations with the people I work with. I collaborate with clients to co-construct goals in counselling, while facilitating their discovery of insights, capacities, and resources to address the challenges they are experiencing, and finding practical strategies to improve aspects of their lives.

I draw and integrate anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, 2SLGBTQ+-affirming, strengths-based, solution-focused, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative, critical disability and critical social work approaches.

I bring over two decades of experience working with persons of all ages, with a focus on supporting youth and adults living with mental health concerns, disabilities, substance use, family conflict and relationship issues.

I am a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), an Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) member, and an Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC) member.

I have a multidisciplinary educational foundation including a Social Service Worker Diploma and Human Resources Management Post-Graduate Certificate from Conestoga College; an Honours Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of General Studies in Social Work, and Certificate in Studies of Child Abuse from the University of Waterloo; a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria; and a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University.

I am committed to life-long learning, and I am currently working towards a PhD in Social Work.
